John L. Council Farm
John L. Council Farm is a multi-generation farm where our family motto "you are what you eat" has been passed down to each generation. Using this as our guideline, we farm using sustainable methods to preserve and strengthen our soil and enhance the health of our livestock. We do not use chemicals on our crops nor do we give them antibiotics or growth hormones. The farm produces vegetable crops and small fruits in-season. However, cover crops are planted strategically to replace soil nutrients lost during the growing season. Crops are rotated to minimize nematodes and diseases. We raise a wide variety of livestock and poultry, including beef cattle, pigs, rabbits, goats, chickens and turkeys.
