Rare Earth Farms

Karl Hudson and Mann Mullen
Rare Earth Farms is a joint venture shared by Karl Hudson and his business partner, Mann Mullen. “Rare Earth” was named because it represents our shared commitment to quality and dedication to sustainable farming practices. We specialize in all natural grass-fed beef, and hope to add lamb in the near future.
Grass-fed beef not only has a smaller carbon footprint than meat from grain-fattened feed-lot animals, but it's leaner and healthier, too. An open-air free-range environment and freedom from steroids, hormones, and antibiotics guarantees quality of life for the 100 head of Angus cattle on our farm in Zebulon east of Raleigh. Because Rare Earth Farm combines three parcels of land into one farming operation, we are able to keep the cows and calves separate from the bulls, and to rotate their pastures to prevent overgrazing.
Though Rare Earth Farm is new, we each bring years of experience to the endeavor and hope to connect with customers who appreciate top-quality beef raised sustainably on a local family farm.
