Red-Tail Ridge is located on the edge of the Asheville city limit. We have two boys, Anthony and Dominick, who both enjoy working on the farm and learning life’s lessons.

Farming is a relatively new experience for us and we are fortunate to have plenty of help managing our farm in the form of four caretakers who live on the property: Jacob and Rachael Nygaard, both graduates of Warren Wilson College, are a wealth of information on sustainable farming. Kelly Grant has an equine science and management degree and assimilates that information into useful knowledge for the other animals. Jason Fredericks, a local college student, helps with both our livestock and our organic garden.

Our livestock are raised in a healthy, humane environment with no antibiotics or hormones. In order to ensure fresh pasture is always available, we use an intensive rotational grazing system.

Red-tail Ridge currently offers pork and eggs for sale. We are also beginning production of pasture-raised beef and pastured broiler chickens. We sell our products directly to consumers from our farm store. By selling direct-from-the-farm, we hope to encourage a positive long term relationship between ourselves and our community.
