Wild Turkey Farms -- operated by the Menius family for over a century -- is located just outside of China Grove, NC. We grow and sell beef, pork, poultry, eggs, vegetables, honey, mushrooms, and hay. We are not certified organic but strive to use a minimal amount of pesticides and antibiotics. We do not use growth hormones in any of our animals.
Wild Turkey Farms is truly a small family owned and operated farm. We do everything with help from our family and friends. Son Rosty, 4 years old, is in charge of the feeding chickens and checking eggs. Son Charlie, 1 year old, is in charge of toy tractor operations and quality control testing of all foods. We welcome customers to visit the farm; there’s nothing better than introducing a child to a newborn litter of pigs for the first time.
We began raising pigs for our own consumption in 2002 and have expanded to providing retail meats to a growing number of customers. Yorkshire and Berkshire breeds are used to produce a high quality product full of great flavor. We feed locally bought and processed grains thus helping to support other area farmers. Our sows have access to the outdoors and are rotated around the farm as weather and crop conditions allow. Once weaned the pigs are moved to a deep bedded hoop barn where they have plenty of room to root around in and just be pigs.
We sell pork chops, ribs, roast and four kinds of sausage. All products are USDA inspected and vacuum packaged to preserve the great flavor. We also offer beef, chicken, eggs, honey, and fresh vegetables.
We sell at the Salisbury Farmers Market on Saturdays from May through September. We also sell at the farm by appointment.
