Moore farm has been in my family for 95 years and five generations. It is made up of crop land, wood land, and pasture. We have a small brood cow herd, pigs, meat goats, and laying hens. We grow corn, soybeans, small grains, and hay.
I enjoy farming, hunting, fishing and spending time with my family. As long as I can remember all I ever wanted to do is farm. Tagging along with my father as a little boy I began learning the many lessons in life by growing up on a small farm. Wobbly new born calves with their mothers, knee high corn, spring rains, and the smell of fresh cut hay are all Gods creations, and I feel blessed to be part of it all.
Our pigs get to do what they do naturally. Graze, root, and play in the sunshine without added hormones or antibiotics. They rotate on small paddocks of grasses, crop residues, and annual crops such as oats, millet and rape.
I offer hot and mild breakfast sausage, pork chops and pork ribs direct from the farm. Call or email us with an order and we can arrange a time for pick-up. You can also find me at the Piedmont-Triad Farmer’s Market (Greensboro), Saturdays from 7 a.m. to Noon.
